Cody & Diana Creelman
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Cody Creelman grew up on a ranch in northern Alberta, where horses were part of daily life. His childhood was spent rodeoing and immersed in western sport, including saddle bronc riding, roping, penning, and steer riding. Those early years shaped both his connection to horses and his understanding of the people who dedicate their lives to them.
During veterinary school, Dr. Creelman originally aspired to become a racetrack veterinarian. As his training progressed, he discovered a genuine appreciation for all areas of veterinary medicine, which ultimately broadened his professional path and led him away from racetrack practice.
In 2019, Dr. Creelman founded Fen Vet with a vision of reimagining the veterinary care experience through strong practice culture and a truly elevated client experience. While growing Fen Vet’s companion animal clinics, he met Dr. Alysson Macedo, whose passion for equine theriogenology was immediately clear. Dr. Macedo had been practising in the Edmonton area, spending summers focused on equine reproduction and winters working as a small animal locum.
Over time, a shared vision emerged. There was an opportunity to build something special, allowing Dr. Macedo to focus fully on equine reproduction while being based closer to Calgary. Fen Vet Equine Reproduction was the result. While running an equine practice was never part of Dr. Creelman’s original plan, the alignment of talent, passion, and shared values made the decision a natural one.
Fen Vet Equine Reproduction brings Fen Vet’s signature style, attention to detail, and client-first philosophy into the equine reproduction space. The response from the community, the trust of clients, and the success of the program have made it one of the most professionally rewarding ventures of Dr. Creelman’s career.
Diana Creelman, Cody’s wife and a part owner of Fen Vet, grew up in rural communities and was involved in equine 4-H, riding horses from a young age. She has been a constant source of support throughout Fen Vet’s growth and is often seen around the barn during the busiest parts of the season, proudly serving as the unofficial equine semen delivery coordinator and driver when it matters most, all while raising their young family together.
Fen Vet Equine Reproduction exists to support breeders, owners, and horses with care rooted in trust, passion, and genuine connection, and to build a place where talented people get to do the work they truly love every day.
